Kerbside Rubbish Collection

Selby District Council are responsible for collecting household fefuse, garden refuse and emptying recycling boxes. All residents are requested to place their wheelie-bins at the kerbside on the alloted dates. The table below shows when the different bins will be emptied, but these days will change on October 1st, when new arrangements for refuse collection will be put into force.

Local Council Rubbish Tip (HWRC)

The HWRC (Household Waste Recycling Centre) for Whitley is located at Canal Road in Selby, near to the Fire Station. Household waste too large to fit into wheelie bins can be disposed of here, FREE of charge. Items such as old clothing, shoes, wood (wardrobes and old kitchen cupboards), metal, cardboard, garden refuse etc can all be taken to the tip and disposed of correctly. The council tip is open at the following times seven days a week:-

The centre at Selby accepts most types of rubbish inlcuding Doors, Sanitary Ware (Sinks, Toilets etc) Fencing, WIndows and Frames, Kitchen Units, Water Tanks, Sofas, Beds.
