National Railway Museum - York 
Why not take the train to York and visit the national railway museum next door? Entrance to the museum is FREE and there are lots of fantastic activities to do for all the family - even dad!
Doncaster Air Museum 
Young and old alike will enjoy a visit to the AeroVenture Park at Doncaster's Lakeside. This site was once a former WWII RAF base and is full of exciting things to do and see.

A super website that enables you to target a location to visit e.g. North, East etc. then locate a suitable venue from the many available. For instance, Lego Land, Holiday Parks, Water Parks, Sea Life, Cadbury World etc.
Yorkshire Waterways Museum Goole 
The website offers lots of interesting information including opening times, cafe facilities and costs.
Barlow Common Local Nature Reserve 
Barlow Common Nature Reserve has abundant flora and fauna which can be enjoyed the year round. This rich flora provides a home for a great variety of insect life, notably 21 different types of butterfly
Whitley Lock 
Situated near the M62 bridge, the lock has recently had a major overhaul. Toilets and fresh water are available and a picnic area complete with a number of tables and seats which are open to the public.
