Whitley is a village with a lot to offer the visitor, whether you are interested in historic churches and buildings, life-style shopping, great food or the latest fashions. There are a number of fine restaurants and pubs offering excellent food and a collection of shops and entertainment that is the envy of North Yorkshire.

Whitley village can be traced back to the Knights Templars, the remnants of a templars grange is situated just to the South of our village.

Whitley is located at J34 of the M62 motorway and the A19, we are a growing village and we want this website to contribute to the sense of community that has traditionally been such a central part of Yorkshire village life.

There are plenty of hotels and B&B's to choose from, all with friendly staff. Many of our local hotels are within 25 minutes drive of major cities including Leeds, York, Wakefield and Selby.
 		A local designer outlet (Freeport) provides shops galore for people of all ages. From lingerie to sportswear and casual to evening wear, you will not be disappointed.
 		Entertainment is provided locally by the huge Xscape complex, with Snow Dome, Ski-slope, Cinemas and Ten Pin Bowling, there is fun for everyone of all ages.
